Call for FY 2009-2010 Nominations

Are you interested in being part of the SWE-Mt. Diablo Section leadership? Nominations are now open for the FY09-10 Executive Committee (EC).

Benefits to being on the EC:

• Gain leadership and managerial experience
• Be a leader in the leading organization for women engineers
• Shape the future of SWE-Mt Diablo

EC positions are listed below. Please feel free to nominate yourself or another member in good standing for any of these positions by Monday, April 20, by e-mailing the Nominating Committe, Linda Leong AND Amy Crandall or by phoning Linda at 415.648.6882, x1338. The time commitment for these positions varies, but none of them are too time-consuming; the minimum commitment is just a few hours a month.

• President - Oversees all events and business of the section.
• Vice President - Coordinates SWE meetings and events.
• Section Representative - Attends regional and national meetings and fulfills duties as the Council Representative.
• Secretary - Records meeting minutes (this position may be combined with Treasurer, if needed).
• Treasurer - Handles all monetary issues, submits Annual Financial Report (this position may be combined with Secretary, if needed).

Other positions may include:

• Marketing Chair - Advertises meetings through local media.
• Membership Chair - Maintains membership database, organizes membership recruitment efforts.
• Scholarship Chair - Coordinates scholarship judging.
• Outreach Chair - Coordinates outreach activities including E-Week events.
